Question for Dickey incubator owners. When you stop the autoturners for the last 3 days of incubation can you then safely use the three trays in nuetral position as hatchin trays?

Yes, but you need to fashion some sort of tray covers, such as hardware cloth. You also have to consider that eggshell and poop will fall on the trays beneath. I decided it's not worth it. I'll just use the hatching tray from now on until I get a separate hatcher (which is the ideal solution.)

Agree with the hatcher idea but for now even just the Dickey incubator feels like overkill for my needs. I just hope I can avoid the temptation to fill the darn thing if I buy it. Have a near new used unit at a good price to look at and probably buy this weekend.
