Looking at getting a cabinet incubator. Either a Dickey w 3 trays 1 hatching tray and electronic thermostat with full acrylic door or a Sportsman 1502.

Which do you have?

Pros & Cons of each?

How different is incubating/hatching with a cabinet incubator different from tabletop incubators?

Which do you reccommend?

I just got the Dickey same as you are looking at, a couple of weeks ago. Actually, I think it was three weeks ago now. Anyway, its great. It is built rock solid, Ernest Dickey is a great man, and I have been very pleased with my purchase. As I stated in a similar thread, I spent the better part of a day dialing it in just right and it has been rock solid perfect since. I also have the Brinsea 20 Adv Ex, which is incredible. My Dickey is just as stable. Impressive. I contemplated getting the Sportsman with the digital setup, but I wanted something with a tad more personal touch and after talking with Mr. Dickey, I was sold. I really don't think you could go wrong either way, but for me the fact that he builds them himself and stands behind his product was a huge plus. Spending less money was nice too! Yeah, the Sportsman is digital, but honestly, as solid as the Dickey is, I don't need it.

Now that will be ALOT of fluffy ones!

Well, I really messed that up lol. Sorry about the double post. The one with pics is obviously the one I ment to post!
Anyway, the top photo was when I had first turned it on, so don't be thrown off by the temp and rh readings. As you can see, the one I just took is solid and perfect for me....

I ordered on a Saturday night. He shipped out first thing Monday morning. I had it at the house by Thursday.

If you have any doubts or questions, call him. He is very approachable and helpful. I will say the Dickey doesn't come with a lot of bells and whistles. Its basic but well built. Its got good quality components.

Both are great bators, but if I was to buy one I would buy Dickey.

It is the same design like Sportsman but custom made by hand and out of wood, not particle board.

I'll always take hand crafted product made out of wood as oppose to mass produced product made out of particle board providing they are both very similar in design and capacity which they are.

I just call Mr. Dickey this afternoon and ordered mine. He is super nice & was patient with my questions and said you can call with questions or concerns up until 10 pm. He was going to try to get mine out today. I am soooo excited. I have heard wonderful thing about these incubators.
