Did I accidentally get 3 Ameracaunas from Cackle?

I ordered a batch of pullets from Cackle Hatchery back in August. 15 weeks later, everyone is doing great, including my two complimentary roosters, haha!

My original order was for PBR’s and Easter Eggers. I was looking at 2 of my pullets and one of my roosters here lately and I SWEAR they look just like the Splash Ameracaunas on Cackles website. Maybe I’m just crazy!? Ok I am, but that’s totally besides the point!!

I’m more curious than anything. I love them to death either way. But it would be cool if they did! Posting pics for wisened eyes.

They all appear to have beards AND muffs along with slate legs and pea combs. Thanks for any additional insight!!

Haha! Oh I know! I did get my PBR’s and Easter Eggers too. I was just wondering if those three were Ameracaunas.

Your splash pullets look like mine - Sweet, aren't they?
If you breed blue to blue, you should get some blues, blacks & splash

No, splash Ameraucanas are not EEs, they're still Ameraucanas. Splash may not be showable at the moment, but it's a natural result of breeding blue to blue. So, it can't be kicked out of the breed just because it carries two blue genes instead of one.

Oh they are so sweet! I had trouble believing Rocky was a rooster at first because he’s such a quiet subdued little thing...but saddle feathers don’t lie!
So has there been much progress in Splash being an officially recognized color? I noticed the discussion you posted was back from 2005. Thank you so much for the info!
