Did I accidentally get a rooster?

Oh bugger. He was looking like a she for so long. Then bam, curvy tail feathers

Sorry. I hate to be the bearer of bad news.(

Just another quick question.
Does anyone know how to tell if they are pure-breed Orpingtons or crosses?
I bought them as crosses but when I asked what they were crossed with I was told they could be pure breed or crossed with a cochin.
Ive looked at a million photos online, and am leaning towards purebred (but Im a bit bias).
Im not even sure you can tell?

Thanks :)

I they are pure bred Orpingtons, they will have the characteristics required by the SOP for Orpingtons (http://thefancychick.com/OrpingtonStandards.html) including a single comb, red earlobes, bare non-yellow legs, white skin, etc. If the birds have deviations from these standards for Opingtons they are not pure Orpingtons. If your birds are Orpington X Cochin, they will have some feathering on the legs.

Ah that's perfect. I was hoping for that but I'm really new to this whole world and wondered if I was being a bit bias.
I've decided to put a collar on him and get him some girl of his own (as long as the collar works well). But then I started worrying about his breed.
Gosh if you told me 18 months ago when I first bought brown shavers that I'd now be breeding chickens and have 10 babies living in my room, I would have thought you were mad!
Ah it's such fun!

No Cochin in there, no feathered feet... Oh but the standard Cochin are actually HUGE, so don't let the bantam thing trick you on that, watch for "giant" cochins...they're actually standard ;) .. Lol I ended up with 3 Bantys' accidentally that way, I wanted big ones not teeny things grrr....lol..

He looks like a Blue Andalusian... He's a nice looking bird, healthy coat :)
