Ok well i have 4 24 week old pullets. I got 3 nice eggs today from 3 of my pullets, the fourth one today laid 2 soft eggs.

They get layer pellets, grit, twice a weeks they get youghart, and because we don't have much grass at the moment I have them a very small amount of cat food just once only. They also free range from 9.30am to 5:30pm.

The one who laid the soft eggs face is not as red as the other 3, but she still is active and no signs of infection... Is it because she only start a fews weeks ago and hadn't laid for a week or is it something I should be concerned about?

This is very common when pullets first start laying. I guess it takes a while for their body to get everything sorted in the right order..... One of mine did this off and on for a few weeks - it came right eventually.

When you say you have grit out, do you mean oyster shell or shell grit? That's what they need - a source of calcium to build strong egg shells. As long as that is available to them, it should sort out as she gets a little bit older.

Good luck

Yeah shell grit. they have always had access to it since 18 weeks. Ok thanks spikes chooks. i am so happy she didn't try to eat it!! And it normal.
