Hey there! I bought 25 assorted chicks from the feed store. I think I have figured out what most of them are. BUt this one is wierd! When the kids picked it out I thought that it was prolly a leghorn but went with it any ways. But now it is double the size of the other chicks!!! Do you think that I coulda got a cornish X? If so how should I raise it with the other chicks? Thanks!

Sorry that I can't help you pin down the breed other than it is not a leghorn and it is a cockerel. Perhaps a white rock. That's be my best unedumacated guess.

If it is a white rock, they are a dual purpose breed-eggs & meat. But you won't get eggs from a cockerel, LOL.

You know it doesnt really look like my X's they have very thick legs from about day 5... Plus the feathering seems a lil too good .. Mine feathered in very ugly .... I would keep an eye on it .. If it gorges itself at the feeder and fills its crop to expolding its a cornish x otherwise , I would have to guess leghorn....
