@Tesumph - just lucky I guess. 2 years ago ordered a straight run of 20 and got 9 pullets and 11 cockerels! Close to 50/50 as one can get. I'll keep visiting your thread to see what you end up with! I love your avatar fox, BTW! I have a fox painted on the door of my coop.

Thanks! I painted my avatar too, I’d love to see your coop. I wouldn’t dare order straight run, not with my luck lol.

@Tesumph - this was before the 20 straight run arrived, still building the pen - My first chickens in my whole life in 2016! I need to put it in the coops forum. Mine are all free range in the day, but there is a covered pen attached to this now + a broody pen/rooster jail (depends on who needs it most), and 2 years later, I STILL have not finished painting 2 of the 4 sides of the coop! With the door closed, it's a full moon & owl, with the door open it's a fox and a badger and a crescent moon.

I ordered 8 females of 8 breeds - these are photos at 9 weeks. Can I be that lucky? I thought for a while some combs were turning too pink, but they are still about the same the last two weeks, so maybe it's ok. On the roost left to right, Buff Orp, Blk Australorp, Buckeye, Egyptian Fayomis, Cuckoo Marans and Easter Egger. the two that had their backs turned, the Black Australorp and the Buckeye. The last photo is the Acona and the Dominique. What say you fine people out in BYC land?
