Yes they will be safe.. I am in the process of building a few "houses" to put on either side of the pond.. My DH is working on the fencing part.... Trust me over the last 3-4 years wild animals have cost us plenty so we try to make everything "predator proof"... Plus we have lots of cattails in the pond and trees that overhang the pond that they can hide them selves in too.. BUT if anyone has any suggestions please feel free to hand em over...

We DO turtle hunt in our pond for that reason.. we had some wild mallards that came every year, they had a nest and all babies went missing, found some dead floating in the water, we suspected turtles..they havnt been back since...
