Might be more a case of a newbie being 'punked' by alarmist chickeneers.

Many over-reactors on the net.....
....it scares me sometimes when I see them advising newbies to jump to worst case scenario conclusions instead of asking more questions first.

Try to relax and she will relax....newly laying pullets can be crazy, it takes time to learn chicken behaviors...and Welcome to BYC!
