Did I get scammed?

Here is a pic of one of the chicks
We got the eggs from ebay. Found pics of some appleyard chicks with dark feathers like this but they all had yellow bands across eyes and none that had black feet.

Do you have a link to the exact eBay seller You bought them from?

That looks very similar to a Blk Swedish duckling. Adorable too.

Message them and explain, if they do nothing then report them for selling the wrong thing.

Have you contacted the seller? It may have been a mix-up in eggs, accidents happen. If they don't acknowledge the mistake and offer refund/replacement, report them to Ebay.

Sorry to be late to the party. That is an adorable duckling but not a silver appleyard. Silver appleyard ducklings have a black mohawk and black tail feather. A small percentage will be all yellow (those one will grow up to be all-white).

They can, yes. It usually fades out as the adult feathers come in.

Granted, the ones I have this year might be mixed with Magpie. We had two Cayuga females and two Magpie females, and a male of each. I say had because one by one the females disappeared, except for one Magpie. And then my Magpie drake died.

The remaining one sat the collective nest and hatched out three chicks, and we got one from the eggs she left behind, before the heat messed up the incubator and killed the rest.

My three Muscovy were also all sitting, and every one of the eggs was infertile! I've been having a bad year with ducks. Hopefully, next year will be better with the new stock, and the blank-shooting drake gone.
