My 6 new Ameraucana babies hatched yesterday, a day early. One darker blue is still fluffing up in the bator. Did I get some Splashes in this hatch

They look much lighter than the Blues.

Thanks!

This is only my 3rd attempt at hatching some chicks from my own chickens. I have had 3 others hatch, all blues, but this is my largest group so far. I was hoping for a few blacks too, but maybe my broodies will hatch some of them for me

It looks like you did get some splashes in there. My splash (I'm pretty sure, anyway) Polish was supposed to be a blue. She was very light grey & yellow. Now, at 3+ weeks, she's very, very light grey, almost a dirty white. I don't see any evidence of the "splash" part yet, but she's still young.

Cool, thanks! I am really hoping they are.

These look like a dirty white'ish gray right now, but wasn't sure if they will feather in light blue or will be Splash.

what does it mean splashes? My polish are blacks, I want gold, but maybe next year.

What age do you put yours outside?

Splash is a color, a very light gray/white/blue with darker gray/blue feathers mixed in.

These are my Splash Cochins

I am hoping some of my new Ameraucana chicks end up looking like that.

I just recently put my 5 week olds into the juvie coop/run. They don't have a heat lamp and run in and out all day. They seem to be doing just fine.

They look splash to me. Congratulations!

The blue looking ones may be splash too. I have a roo that is really dark on the back, hackles and saddle feathers but his chest is splash, so he is a splash bird.

You'll have to wait until they mature a little more on those.

Yay! Thanks! I was hoping for 1, maybe 2....4 is awesome. Maybe I will get one of each sex from the group!

The two blues seem a little different in coloring than my first 3 blues were. I will have to see how they feather in, I guess.

ooooh I believe you did...my splash cochin was such a cutie when she was a day old...and she is gorgeous now. I love her too pieces.
