Did I mess up? potting soil in chicken run?

Good to know cause I has a big pile of used live soil from a grow operation near my house and used it on top of the red clay In the run and was wondering the same wether it was bad or not

I’m an avid Gardner and use organic mulch often in pens. It’s relatively cheap and I can use it later in the yard. Be careful though of potting soil because they don’t always tell you what fertilizer is added. It can make birds sick or cause respiratory problems. A common additive these days is bat guano. Don’t want my birds in hailing it as it can make them sick. I’ve read articles where humans have to wear protective gear to remove it from the caves. And sadly human waste is now added to soil yuck!
