I'm a first time chicken owner. A month ago we moved into a new house. The people who lived here before did not take very good care of their pets, and the yard was infested with fleas. I have two dogs, and they were going nuts with the itching, and are also kept on frontline plus regularly. Three weeks ago I got the chicks. That same week we sprayed the yard with bug killer to get some relief from the flea problem. I believed it was Ortho killer, I tried to find something that was more natural, but couldn't find anything that said it would work on the fleas.
So my chicks have been inside so far, but in a couple weeks it will be time for them to start living outside, plus I'd like to let them go outside from time to time, but, I'm worried about the spray we used on the yard. How long do you think it will be until it is safe for them to go out in the grass? Did I really screw up? What should I use in the future?
