Everything I read up until today said 28 days for guinea eggs to hatch, but I read a post I today that said 25-26 for her guinea eggs under a broody hen. Mine are also under a broody hen, I just want to be clear on my timeline so I can be home for the hatch. Is it 28?

Guineas do not have a completely clear hatch day like chickens. Most of the game birds do not. I don't remember what the range is for guineas but most quail have a 3 or 4 day potential hatching span. They are much less predictable than chickens and claiming a certain number for a hatch date for game birds is just picking the average.

I always drop my eggs to the hatcher on the 21st day. You never know when they will hatch and I was tired of opening the incubator to drop the eggs and having a mess of keets fall out and then the race was on.

Yup I had 1 keet hatch on day 24 a bunch more hatch on 25 and 26 today is 27 and there are only 3 eggs left to hatch. So goes to show that they seem to hatch at random.

eta: Those these were from eggs that had been sitting and collected over a large span of time, so I guess some may have begun to develop or something before they were set in the bator

Great info. Thanks eveyone. I guess I need to prepare fo anything! This is my first hatch, well it isn't actually mine, its the hens but you get the point.

all mine hatched under a broody hen at 25-31 days (31 days was cause i put another egg in a few days late lol)

all 8 hatched but 1 didnt make it

my 7 are now 7 weeks old.

I've also read 28 days, but have never had one go over 25 days. So move them early, just to be safe
