Did I toss out a developing egg??

We candled our eggs on day 4. We removed 4 that didn’t appear to be developing since the incubator was overfilled. The following day I cracked the eggs that had been removed. One of them looks as though it may have been developing. What do you think?

(We did keep a bunch of eggs that we didn’t see development or were unsure- we only tossed these so early because they were stacked and I didn’t want to keep hand turning).

It had started to develop, yes.... but that's not a Day 4 embryo. There would have been blood vessels. It was an early quitter. You did nothing wrong; you'd have identified it at the next candling anyway.

That's what I usually see after 24hrs of incubation. I do a day 1 candling, & a large orange spot is what I see to confirm my eggs are fertile, & developing.

Thank you. I didn't like the idea of tossing them so early in case we were incorrect, but it seemed the best thing to do since I'm not home enough to adaquately hand turn.
