Did my broody crush her egg?? ***Pics***

I'm not expert, but I would just leave it alone and see. I just had a broody hen hatch. She was setting on 6 eggs. The first one hatched 2 days before they were "due". The next 2 hatched over the course of the next 2 days. Then she stopped sitting on the eggs. I was planning to dispose of the eggs since I figured they were "duds". We were very busy that day, so I never got around to it. I remembered in the middle of the night and went out the next morning to get rid of those eggs, only to be surprised with a fourth little chick!

Sadly, though, today my son found that 3 chicks were missing and the fourth was dead. I'm almost positive it was a snake. He did, however, ingest 2 ceramic eggs as well, so he will soon be a dead snake.

Ok, thank you so much. I am sorry about your little chickies, that is so sad. Hopefully the snake will get what he deserves. I am sure
that ceramic eggs will not go too well with it.

YUP leave it alone if it is due to hatch it should be fine..

The same happened to mine! With the crushed egg, I mean. Except yolk is leaking out of it... They are due today. I thought I saw it breathe, but then I stared at it for a while later and it didn't move. I am going out of my mind with worry and grief.
