I have two Wyandottes. One recently developed sour crop, so I brought her inside to monitor her eating and try to get it under control. Her sister was left outside by herself. I was thinking she would be okay for a few hours until I could figure something out, but I was wrong and I feel terrible about it. When I came out to check on her she was making a constant rasping sound when she was breathing. I was told that she had spent some time crowing earlier (a behavior she has exhibited before, I assume she was calling for her sister). As soon as I heard her breathing I wrapped her up and brought her inside to see her sister where she is now, but she is still making the same noise.
She seems calm and otherwise normal, but is still breathing that way. I wonder if she could have hurt her throat by crowing earlier? She was totally normal when I brought her sister in this morning. If it is a sore or injured throat, is there something I can do to help her? Any advice would be very appreciated right now.
