Nope not at all. I pet her back and she still does nothing. She doesn’t even show interest in the nesting box or trying to make a nest. Could it be because she’s an only chicken?

Will do! I doubt she’s layed somewhere else, I would of found out already since I check the yard almost everyday to find an egg.

Did you say you have a fake egg in her nest box? If not, even a golf ball will do. It teaches them where to lay their egg, that the nest box is the safe place to do it.

I'm not sure if being alone would affect when she lays, but I would get her a friend. Chickens are meant to live in a flock and they learn from each other while doing so.

I hope she lays really soon, I feel like they always lay when you least expect it

Yeah we tried when she was a chick but they wouldn’t sell us individuals and we jsut can’t afford another coop and a bigger yard. I have a friend with chickens and hopefully in the spring she can loan me one or I can give her mine. The reason we have an only chick is because we found her in the woods

It was not Farmlife16 that asked if OP had fake eggs or golfballs in the nest, it was I, BigBlueHen53. Winder how that got attributed to the wrong person.

If I click "reply" on two different posts, both will get quoted in the reply.
If I then delete parts of both, I can end up with effects like that.

(If I mess with the option to "toggle BB code," I can see the actual bits of code that tell what should be attributed to who, which I usually find more cumbersome, but easier to fix if it does weird things. The strange effects happen when it's showing the quote in a nice blue box, and it makes assumptions about how to handle it as I delete and add things.)
