My freinds two baby chicks recently died. Can too much D/E mixed in with the chick feed possible kill them? Its the only thing we can come up with...
 
I say yes it is possible. DE is not just used as a insectacide. It is also used as a drying agent or caking agent. And chicks systems are really sensitive. It is possible, They could have clogged up. But, it is very possible that it was coincidence too.

The DE is food grade, I mixed some up, just a tiny bit with the feed for my chicks and had no problem. My freind put quite a bit in so I suspect that is what happened. Thanks for your replies. We're so bummed out......
