Diet to Get Darker Blue Eggs Query

That's the speculation this thread is headed to. Noooooooo!!!!!! only the shells get fed to the chickens!!!! And, they would have to be ground up. But, there's lots of good juicy stuff inside that we humans don't eat that the chickens would kill for.

@sylviethecochin , how are your blue Ameraucana chicks? I need a quick chick pics fix!!! Hope all is well...
Well, I have no new pictures of those, but they're doing fine. The third one is being a bit listless and clingy with her Mum, but I gave her two drops of SpectoGuard and am hoping that clears it up (It's been so wet and dirty around here that I'm just assuming it's Coccidiosis--or scours, as I was taught to think of it.)

Here's Sylvie and her peeps, though, if it'll help you get your fix:

Save yourself a heap of work and a mountain of added expense by reviewing this link before feeding you birds humming bird tongues or some other equally ridiculous thing to try and make their eggshells darker..

On the more positive side about March or April of 2019 your hens' eggshells will return to almost the same exact color that they were in March or April of 2018.

Too much vitamin A & D will not only tend to darken eggshells but will also contribute to a disease known as Hypervitaminosis A & D.

These are potentially fetal diseases in humans and may also render children deformed for life.
