Which part of the high-desert are you located?Not surprised, given how different the two are. Out of curiousity, what are you basing that upon? Should I have been able to tell looking at the 4-day old chicks on purchase? As I said, I'm perfectly happy, but I'm a scientist so I like to accurate where possible!
Like most standard bred chickens, Araucanas and Ameraucanas have predictable visual information, from the baby down colors and patterns, to the adult feathers, legs, eyes, and body shapes.
Easter Eggers were traditionally Ameraucana mixes.
Do most people call any blue-egg mixes Easter Eggers? For example, Crested Cream Legbars, which are a standard bred blue egg layer, mixed with a different blue, white or tan egg-layer?
