Hi all! I've heard so many names for what I've always thought were Appenzeller Spitzhaubens. Are 'Appenzeller',' 'Spitzhauben,' and 'Appenzeller Spitzhauben,' just difference names for the same breed, or are they genetically different?
Thanks in advance!

There are two types of Appenzeller. The Spitzhauben, and the Barthuhner. So Appenzeller Spitzhauben is one type. Usually when people talk about appenzeller they are referring to the Spitzhauben because it's more common.

There are two types of Appenzeller(named after the Appenzell Canton on Switzerland) the Spitzhaubens are the crested type and the baardhoen are Bearded, but they also have different coloration with baardhoen being Only Black, Blue, Wildtype and Rose Comb(the Spitzhaubens being V-comb)
