Difference between show and pet quality

Hi, I might be getting 3 cayuga ducks soon. I have the choice between pet/laying or show quality. Is there much of a difference between the 2? Would show quality live longer and be healthier or would pet quality live longer and be healthier?
Thanks
IMO, one is not going to be healthier and live longer than the other. It comes down to the individual bird.

When you think about purebred dogs, most of them have shorter lives than mixed breed mutts. It comes down to the genetics, not the phenotype that they are expressing.

What makes purebred birds worth more than pet quality birds is that they can be shown and you can win small amounts of money with them or prestige, if that's what people think they win when they show a bird.

I'm getting the pet quality cayugas saturday, the only difference is that they have a couple white feathers. They are purebred but were either born with white feathers or they grew in later. I don't really mind as they will get white feathers anyway and I won't be showing them. I hope they got along well with my 4 other ducks.

I got my 3 cayuga ducks, they are beautiful with a few white feathers among the black and greenish ones. When the owner was putting them in a box for me he said, would you like that call drake over there, he was raised with them and is their friend. So I was like of course! So now I have my 3 cayugas and Desmond.
