I bought a frypan special from Meyer hatchery 6 weeks ago and I got two roosters that I belive are either brown leghorns or welsummers the pics I have seen of them look the same. So how can I tell the difference?

If they are from a special made up of more eadible chickens I would think they put welsumers in and not brown leghorns. Leghorn roosters are long legged skinny things until they are a year or older. Welsumers are at least twice as massive.

I dont know cus they put in three white leghorns in the mix too and they sure arent very meaty

That's bizzare that either Welsummers or Leghorns were included as meat birds.

Welsummers are far more valuable as layers, their very dark brown eggs are becoming more and more popular.

Ok checked out Meyers and they do include some strange breeds in their fry pan special. One other possibility for your brown stripey chick is Speckled Sussex.

Also doesn't say anything about Leghorns could your white chicks be White Rocks?

Sorry I seem to have forgotten to answer the original question, I hate it when that happens!

Welsummers and Leghorns have similar color but very different shapes and temperment.

Leghorns will be small, sleek and flighty and develop relatively quickly.

Welsummers are rounder, heavier, more mellow and develop slower.
