Differences EE, Ameraucana, & Araucana * Pls post pics*

Well, so I see now that my pulletts I thought were Ameraucana's are EE. Thank you for clearing it up for me and probably many others. Here's a question; does a colored egg laying hen always lay the same color/shade? Or is there a varience? Also at what age range should one expect Ameraucana/EE's to start laying? Thanks!

Hope its ok to quote Jean here for the answer to that from a recent post in another thread-might save her some time..

"I would say 23-26 weeks. When you have fall babies they usually start to lay later just because of the lack of light and the cold weather.

Their little bodies are using up their energy to keep warm. Reproduction is not high on the priority list."

Here are my EE Cackle girls hatched June 1, 2008. Only 2 are laying. The white one, Lola, lays a pink egg, and the little reddish gal, Penny, lays the green egg. The black hen, Hilda and the other girl, Maxine are still freeloaders.

As babies:

I think Cackle just scored some points for folks looking for EE's-
some lovely and different colors there-thanks for sharing!

Well, I read the whole post. I have always understood what an auracana is but I am still confused about what makes an Ameraucana. Pea comb and something about the legs and certain colors?
