Birch Run Farm, I sure will let you know! It won't be for another month or so though. Thanks for the interest.

This is fun. We have so many to choose from it is hard to know who to post... But our BW Ameraucana Roo is a one of a kind fellow. He was the only hatchling from a dozen shipped eggs and I like to think that God gave him to me special as the odds of getting such a nice roo as the only roo at the time were astronomic!

Easter Eggers: What I really love about them is their uniqueness. Each one is different and you can name them and tell them apart. All of our had slate legs and peacombs, full muffs and beards and great temperments. We maintained this flock for many years and loved them dearly.

And eggs from the Ameraucanas (not the brown one) somebody reminded me it is about the EGGS! Not a great pic...sorry I am not much of a photographer but I'll try for a better one soon.

Wow! What a great topic! I think my all-time favorite breeds are EEs and Ameraucanas. I just love all the different variations in appearance and egg color that you can get with EEs.

I have 2 EEs right now that lay beautiful aqua blue eggs. Interestingly, they are my only 2 hens that have ever gone broody--and both have been excellent mothers.

This is a "puffed up" picture of Pearl when she was just going broody.

Regarding "Lavender" Ameraucanas.
John Blehm president of the ABC has been working on this color which is genetically self blue.
He used self blue Belgian D' Anvers to introduce the color.
John is calling them lavenders because most people get confused by the term self blue.
"Self" is a solid color with no lacing.
I assume the breed club will eventually try to make lavenders an accepted APA Ameraucana color.
