I have one of those too (from Meyers via MPC). She is the friendliest of the bunch! She is almost identical to yours, Brian. Here is a pic of her at 6 weeks...

Is it rumpless?

She appears to have a little tail not like my other chickens. Im just thinking she may just be an EE. Now what color egg should she lay. I quess since shes only 5 1/2 weels I have a long wait.

MPC is My Pet Chicken. Their birds come from Meyer, but MPC is able to get them to sex bantams for them. I bought her as a sexed Easter Egger. Now that she is a few weeks older, she looks pretty much exactly like yours.

I got all my Amerucanas sexed I only wanted one roo. I have 6 girls and 1 roo. And 2 that were sold as Arucana? Which is now questionable due to they have a little bit of a tail that kinda angles downward. I got all mine at Meyers.

Ok...since Im still new to the whole Ee, Amercauna..etc....

question and hold my hand:
Is there a difference between, and what is it EXACTLY...

EE

amercauna

araucana

I keep trying to read and get lost...but then again, Im taking medication so I get lost easy...can someone please break it down...or are the last two the samething???

thanks so much!!!

I found this site, and trying to read it to understand it, with PICTURES!

Yes, there is a difference. I would suggest doing a search on BYC for those breeds and you will find a plethora of information. Probably more than what you want to read. Of course you can always Google too.

Here's the short answer:

Ameraucana: One of the 8 APA approved varieties. See the Standard or www.ameraucana.org for more info.

Araucana: A unique rumpless, tufted blue egg layer. I think there are 5 approved varieties but don't hold me to that as I'm no expert on them. See www.araucana.net for more info.

Easter Egger: A cross with either of the above with anything else. In other words, crossing an Ameraucan with another other breed of bird results in an Easter Egger. Or crossing one variety of Ameraucana with another that results in the offspring not breeding true would be an Easter Egger (i.e. A Black to a Blue Wheaten).

Hope that helps and clears it up for you. Like I said there is plenty more on BYC if you wanna do a search for it.

God Bless,

Thank you so much I appreciate a quick break down until I can read it all. I was asking because I answered an ad the man said it was a true ameraucana but didn't have his tuffs yet and would come in later. My understanding because I have 2 ee's is that they at 3days had ear fuzz which I'm guessing are muffs and beards. And I assumed that the others are born with small tuffs already? He said doesn't have them in but will when he gets older he is 1mo.!!
