I've noticed during my time of preparing for the arrival of my meaties, some hatcheries suggest 18%, 20% or 22% for starter feed. Whats the big difference and how does it effect the birds during their development?

I would repost this in the meat bird section. I feed % 20 to my meat chicks but I know some feed higher. I do believe if you can find better sources of protein such as egg, meat and fish meal that a slightly lower percent would be fine. The Cornish X grow at an amazing rate and need a large amount of protein to build all that muscle.
