Different Color Egg!

Hey! We have 3 Cayuga girls, and one typically lays a white-ish egg, while the other two lay small gray/black eggs. Today, I collected 3 small gray/black eggs. Can eggs change colors?! Y’all have a blessed day!!!

As the season progresses Cayuga duck eggs change in color (from white to a dark gray)

I thought they went the other way from gray to cream. If one hasn't laid in a couple days they go back to gray.

I have had one of my females lay a random darker egg when she was first began laying eggs. But white to black seems less likely. Is there any chance you missed an egg from yesterday?

Oh my goodness, this is so weird! Get this, the next day, she went back to the white-ish color!! Does this tend to happen every season?

I didn’t think so... but they like to play hide and go seek with their eggs, so there’s always that chance I guess!
