Different days of age embryos under broody hen

I am sorry for video being private. i didnt know that setting it private would privatize it on BYC also. Now i am trying to login to youtube.com but there is some problem with server or whatever. So i cant change it right now. I am also trying to upload new videos but am unable to.

I would update ASAP.

So sorry for the loss of your little one. May I be so bold as to make a suggestion? I see your hen has made her nest with very little nesting material and on a very hard surface. This means there is no room for error should she step on the eggs or, sadly as you have found out, the chicks. If there was some thick straw or something, it may give a little cushioning to anything being stepped on. It will also help to prevent the rolling which is clearly occuring (as the eggs are slightly scattered), keeping them together, allowing better incubation from what looks like a relatively small hen and the straw will also act as insulation to keep the eggs warm when the hen goes off to eat and drink for short periods.

I thank you in advance for your suggestion. I have set her in a water dish made of clay filled with sand. In this extremely hot weather here in my area (around 40 degrees centigrade) we use sand rather any other nesting material so that the eggs dont over heat. There was no rolling before hatching of second chick. Any way today was there 18th day and i see some movement in most eggs. I hope there is not another accident. The hen is so far very coordinating. She has not abandoned the eggs due to her two hatched chicks. But in tomorrow morning if she does not sit on eggs and continue caring for chicks then i will separate her chicks from her so that she can continue sitting on eggs. I shall take care of chicks myself for 2 days max.
I hope this clutch hatches successfully. Different ages of embryos have caused a little bit of more care and management.
God Help Me and my hatchlings.

PS: Third chick has started pipping and will be out in the morning.

Thanks a lot

. The hen was also co operative enough so as not to leave the nest even 1 baby hatched a week ago

. In short, the efforts are worth it. I hope she goes broody in winter again and her daughters too when they grow up
