I'm doing research and trying to understand the differences between the different strains of coturnix. I know that they can all be used for meat and eggs, but I want to know what they were developed primarily for.

I know that the jumbo brown was bred for meat production.
Was the A&M bred for meat or eggs, primarily?

What is the Pharoah XLD1 and what was it bred for?

Are there any other strains I'm forgetting (not just colors, but strains bred to have advantages)?

Cannot say anything about jumbo browns, but i have xld-1 stock from them that are nice birds and good sized too.

I have some of their A&M's, and am happy with them! I would buy from them again.
