Anyone got any ideas on winning over a difficult neighbor? She doesn't like our chickens, and there isn't really much she does like, as far as we can tell. She seems to be the neighborhood "biddy," as another of my neighbors refers to her.

Some people are just NEVER happy no matter what. Just stay polite at all times and if she is going through one of those moods, I suggest you hide.

Always smile and say hello. Take over cookies. Offer to carry her groceries in. No matter what she does, you continue to be pleasant and reasonable. Keep you chickens in your yard and don't let anything get smelly. You will either win her over or, at worst, provide her with no ammunition against you.

I orginally wanted to get a rooster to annoy my neighbors. They have no problem running thier putrid septic tank-pumping buisness at their home (oh, they've been grandfathered in

yet I couldn't have a dog boarding kennel/buisness as per the zoning/township rules) make tons of noise with thier big trucks up and down the driveway all day, make big noise by pumping crap from one truck to the next and then top it off with the one son bought the house up on the hill and his wife is a psycho screaming, hysteric that should probably take a football-sized xanax. The things that come out of her mouth... well, she's probably lucky child services haven't investigated her because she's really nasty.

I can't stand them. They have no regard for anybody else in the neighborhood. Would I ask them for any blessings for me getting chickens. No. They are just LUCKY I didn't get a rooster this time around.

wow, I am a seething ball of hatred.

I don't blame you I would be too. I can't stand people that don't care about the people around them. Its called post modernism they only care about themselves
We not long got new neighbours who have 3 dogs and they bark alot, it doesn't bother me. they are only little dogs and when the lady is home she tells them to shut up. But she has received 2 nasty letters from a neighbour who is to gutless to talk to her in person, complaining about the dogs. I think if you have a problem with something isn't it better to have a talk about it than threaten action agaist them. People in suburbia are so rude and self centered I want to move out to the country.n
