Difrent Typs Of Perches " Walk In Coops Only Pleas"

My roost is just a thick (4cm I think) thick pole running North to south in the centre on my coop. They seem to get the hang of jumping/flying up to they're 4ft high roost in just 1 night! I am impressed.

My grandpa built me a square wood frame, and put four perches in... I have 12 hens and a rooster in one coop together... they are all bantams so they are fairly small, out of the four perches... two are used... it sits at an angle, screwed to the wall with a hinge, so it makes for easy cleaning... but out of the thirteen chickens in there... my three 7 month olds sit on the floor, my three sister hens sit about five feet off the ground in the window sill, and then every or almost every sits on the top perch... my hen Midnight sits alone on the second perch... and jetta sits in the nest box... as she is broody right now :)

Thank you ChirpyChicks1 ~!!! I have DE and do put it all over my coop. I will treat them like they have scaly leg mites just to make sure that they don't have it.

I'm going to put in 4 perches too! i just bought all the wood I'm going to need for my 13 girls to live in. I think I'm going to keep my other coop for the girls that need to be treated for scaly leg mites so that they don't infect my new coop!
