Hi folks,
Another one of my chickens is having problems.... :he :barnieMy 1 yr old Buff Brahma hen constantly has a huge crop, but is super skinny. I’m feeding them a grower( I have non laying pullets in there), with oyster shells and grit available.

What could be causing this? A crop problem? Please help! Thanks in advance.

Ugh, I hope not! :fl Thanks for replying. What would I do if it is impacted crop?
Limit food, or don't feed during treatment. Give only water.
To get things moving, give hardened chunks of coconut oil, & massage her crop a few times a day. You should massage her crop in a circular motion, & work the food down the crop tube. You should feel the food in the crop shrink as you do the massage.

Thank you! I’ll try that.

I gave her coconut oil and massaged her crop, and I believe it got smaller. However, I did notice her crop is squishy. Does this mean it’s sour crop? @MysteryChicken
@azygous do you have any advice?
It could be sour crop, I've never treated sour crop before.
