I'm having issues with my new sportsman incubator. I have a test batch of eggs in, and the turner seems stuck.. It's not all levelling out at the same angle and when I hold down manual like it describes, it beeps but doesn't move.

Any tips on what to do?

The egg trays were hard to get out, but I did it. Still can't get the turners to go, and the hatching tray at the bottom won't come out. If I could somehow get the tray out, do you think that's why it isn't turning?

I'll be calling the manufacturer once they open, but thought someone here could help me out in the meantime. I've read my manual. I've googled for an answer, but haven't come up with anything yet.

Thanks!

the hatching tray shouldnt be stopping it. Is there a shipping strap to keep thing stable not yet removed?
Could be, but the instructions aren't saying anything more about that. The front part of the trays can wiggle, but the back seems to be locked in place. I'm sure a call to their office would help, but they are not open now.

I'll do a good check tomorrow. Do you remember their being a strap or screwed in the back for shipping?

I've never used a new digital Sportsman but our old ones have never stuck like that. Maybe you could try to make it move? No, that's a dumb idea, you might break something and it woulda been my stupid idea.
hummm Maybe there was a shipping stop or something. This sounds really unusual.
Post the answer when you find out. I'm planning on upgrading our old incubators someday so I'd really like to know.
Sorry I can't be more help.

we have the Dickey not sportsman, but I dont remember removing any screws or locking nuts ect. I believe the Dickey uses the same turning rack system though. The trays that hold the egg flats slide in out very easy as does the hatching tray. It sounds like something is holding them all in place for shipping.

I'll let you guys know. It seems like I can unscrew the trays from the front and remove to check it out further. I'll have to set the incubating eggs in another incubator doing it though. So far the trays are at 3 different angles. I have been moving them up and down and angrily trying to solve it since yesterday. :p

I sure hope it is just shipping screws!!
