There are some other less expensive pieces of software that are also quite good. Corel PaintShop Pro seems to be quite powerful.

As with anything the software will not make you an expert....lots and lots of practice will. I've been working with PhotoShop for 10 years, and I'm by far not a professional. The really good people can do the most incredible stuff.

GIMP is a free image editing program that is comparable to Photoshop. Just google GIMP and you will find the link to download it.

WOW Urban Coyote, that chicken hawk is awesome! you can't actually tell it's been edited. Not like mine, which is really rough.

I have adobe photoshop and adobe image editor on my computer; I love photoshop (REALLY want a tablet though) but can't figure out image editor!

Here's my entry. It's my avatar; I made it yesterday. La Unica Farms kindly let me use the horse picture, and the osprey wings are from my own photo:
