Dill's Giant Atlantic pumpkin diary

Those seeds are probably worth their weight in gold. Good luck growing them next year.
They were much cheaper than the seeds from the winning pumpkins. The seeds for the winning pumpkins are sold one seed at a time for ridiculous prices.

What seems crazy to me is that for those ridiculous prices, there is no germination guarantee.

Other than possibly seed sales and bragging rights, what do 1800 pound pumpkins get you?

Unless you're Peter Peter. And what did his wife think of being kept in a pumpkin shell? It sounds cold, damp, and moldy to me.
Many claim they are excellent for cooking.

My own experience is that Big Moose are sweeter and make better pies than the small ones that are sold as pie pumpkins. Admittedly, Big Moose are not a giant pumpkin.

In my case, I would like to just one time grow a really big pumpkin. I also like the idea of giving away seeds that others are charging exorbitant prices for.

@R2elk I just found this thread. What fun! These are amazing and beautiful! You did good. Now please tell me, how did you keep the chickens and shield bugs out of these?
The garden is fenced. The chickens have no access to it. Shield bugs are not a problem here.
