Dimensions on coop door?

What's a good rule of thumb for the dimensions on the door to the coop the chickens use to enter and exit? I want to make sure it's big enough. Thanks.

Depends on the size of your birds, but use the same dimensions as your nesting boxes. Usually 14" x 14" or so for average birds.

I have standard chickens and I use 13x15 for my coop doors.

My chicken coop door is 12 high and 10 wide for my buff orpington hens and rooster. Even our 65 pound Aussie fits in and out.

i recently made my 4 chickens and my friend's 5 chickens walk through an 8" wide x 10" tall picture frame. they all fit easily. these are all stardard size chickens too, but no roos. now i'm not saying you should make the door that small, but if you had a space issue...
