Probably not, chickens and even songbirds do it to keep clean. Chickens don't like to bathe in water. Although I have seen songbirds bathe in a bird bath. GC

It is an instinct built in to them. You could have the cleanest coop in the world and they would still dust bathe. I have had week old chicks do it in the shavings in their brooder.

Yep, chickens love dust bathing, it helps control external parasites.

Dust bathing is not just for bugs(existing or possibles),
but to clean the feathers of excess or old 'oil' used for weather proofing feathers.
