Dirty eggs....

So 95% of my eggs are just clean. Then there are those days someone pooed in the box which happens. Then there the days every egg in every box is filthy. Just wondering why some days all my eggs are dirty in all the boxes. It doesn’t appear to be rain specific. Do chickens have stomach cycles or something? Anyone else notice this?

I usually notice it when my coop needs more straw or cleaned out. Also occasionally someone poops on the bar in front of the box and then everyone walks in it on their way to the nest.

In my in-town flock I had one chicken whose every egg had a streak of poop on one side.

Unfortunately, once there is one dirty spot it all tends to get tracked around everywhere.
