Dirty Feathers

Hi. I'm having to go through the process of putting my chicks onto their roosts at night as they keep sleeping on the floor. Because of this they are dirty and covered in poo from where they lie in it. As you know they poo as they sleep.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how to clean them without too much stress? Also it is not warm here now, down to a couple of degrees centigrade.

Just wait, it will come off eventually and they'll eventually roost on their own. You can also change the bedding more often. How old are they?

They are 14 weeks. I also clean them every couple of days due to this. I use lots of straw for bedding.

Be sure they have a place to dustbathe, too.
