disabled chick

I have a baby chick who is unable to walk and unable to eat. It has started opening its eyes but for most part keeps them closed. He won't or can't bear weight on it and its the right leg. Anyone have any suggestions and has had this problem?

Yes, I have and unfortunately it died. They don't all make it, just too weak or defects we can't see.

I don't like to assist as I want only the hardiest strongest chickens to make it.

You can try water with vitamins in it offered of a dropper and food out of your hand.

I gave it vitamins but it wouldnt eat it only lived a week so sad

It is so sad. I still miss my little one that didn't make it. I did my best to make it comfortable and loved while it lived and did what I suggested to you but it still died. It was a little Buckeye. I look at my other "chicks" that are now 18 weeks old and wonder what the little Buckeye would've been like. The sad part of chicken keeping...but there is SO much good too!
