I have a hen that had wry neck in the beginning of February, and now has neurological problems. Which— no issue, now she gets pampered!
She’s so sassy and acts so spoiled, too! She was raised indoors essentially so she seems to understand what we say a lot more than we give credit for. Anyways… watching her move around and explore is always so entertaining. She can pick her head up and eat and drink all on her own, but she still struggles with putting it between her legs and getting it stuck.
Her name is technically Dusty but I call her Honey so much that might as well be her name, oh well.
Some little fun facts about her:
- She loves being blow dried; gets down on her side and acts like shes sunbathing
- Loves watching TV
- Moves her beak like shes talking with us, seemingly
- Spins… a lot
- bonks her head off things a lot, but she’s okay!
- Inspects new foods very intensely and never actually will try anything new
- Dramatic head throwing when curious
- Sleeps with her head face-down in her blanket; aka face-plants
- Somehow can run across our property in 2 minutes without any issues when your head is turned
- Fluffy af
She gets put outside all the time unless it’s raining, super windy, and or cold!
I remember when I had to hold her head up for her to eat and use a syringe to give her water… she’s come so far. She’s for sure my little emotional support rotisserie.
(And she lays eggs, which is kinda like rent?)
