Disappointed in my americanas (easter eggers)

If this is all they get, corn and oyster shells this is your issue. It takes alot to make an egg and if you don't put in they can't put out especially young hens still developing. I'm in agreement with the others introduce laying rations or at least a balanced flock feed and see how that effects things.

I have 2 EE that are 7.5 months. One has not laid yet. The other lays pretty blue eggs but stopped a few weeks ago as the days got shorter. (I also have a white leghorn who hasn’t laid yet and a FBCM that stopped laying at the same time the one EE did).

Well maybe this chicken is just odd. I feed all 5 of my chickens the same food, oyster shells and some corn. She is the only one that doesn't lay much.

Yeah me too, corn is cool for a treat but every day well you know empty calories. Like an athlete running on candy 24/7.

I'm not going to argue with you there, mine don't get it either. I try not to eat much of it myself. Hard to avoid it though its in everything.

I have an ee that laid an egg every day for about 2-3 weeks and hasn't given me an egg since the end of June.. she had bumble foot so I thought that was the cause, but once it cleared up she still didn't start laying again. Free loader.

The number one ingredient is most feeds is already corn...but the are balanced out with all the other goodies.

My EE so far has been my most reliable layer. All my other hens quit weeks ago (and are now in various stages of molt), but my EE is still laying about 5 or 6 eggs a week.

All chicken DNA is a compromise as to feather color, plumage, egg production, comb type, and any number of other issues to numerous to mention here. Then there is hen health and a diet of corn and oyster shell will not result in very many if any eggs.
