Hi everyone, just wanted to say I couldn’t do this without you guys

Do I need to discard the eggs during worming? Also, after the five days do I need to repeat again at some point?

Not sure if you’ve been following. I have a girl that won’t eat. She seems to be able to drink and take the worm medicine. Can I give her some baby food if it goes down. She might have some thing blocked in her esophagus. I looked down and didn’t see any yellow or anything stuck. I thought it was sour crop at first, because it was squishy, and she wasn’t emptying. She’s down to skin and bones walking around, pretending to eat. Today she tried to pick up scratch. And spit it out. I have her separated. Just in case you haven’t been following my saga. I guess I will try coconut oil today.

Can they be fed back to them

The purpose of a withdrawal is to discard the eggs due to the possibility of residual medication in the egg, so feeding back is not advisable.
Throw the eggs away.

I don't know of any following or saga or...
I'm not inclined to go tracking down a lot of threads and posts.

Provide some photos of the hen and her poop.
How old is she?
Does she lay eggs?

If the crop is not emptying, then address that Symptom. Often there's an underlying condition like reproductive disorders, infection, etc. that is causing the crop to slow. Sometimes a blockage of fibrous material may be at play as well.

Thank you. Not sure if you have been following but I just don’t know what to do with one hen. Can’t eat. Tried everything. Thought it was sour crop at first. Treated for that. Treating for worms last day today. She’s still walking around and perching. I have her separated. No other symptoms of wry neck (sorry don’t know how to spell it) other than the way she holds her neck. I looked down didn’t see any yellow or any debris in her throat. Neck seems enlarged. Crop is always empty now, but wasn’t emptying when I first saw she was sick. Crop was squishy, which is why I assumed that it was sour crop. No smell came from the mouth. I don’t have a vet that will help. Thinking of getting baby food and feeding with a syringe. I am able to get all the treatments down and she is able to drink water. I saw her pick up scratch today drop it out and shake her head. Any suggestions. Thinking of trying coconut oil. Do I just put that in her mouth and hope she swallows it?

thanks have read the article before and treated accordingly. Good news is solid stool now and the other is eating. Very relieved.

Can you get a video of her actions? Upload to youtube and provide a link.

If not, photos of her and her poop?

She can't eat?

She's still walking around and perching - doesn't sound very far gone to me. A sick bird usually lazes around quite a bit and most are not inclined to roost.

Wet feed is worth a try. Not sure about baby food.
