Discoloration around pip hole HELP

All of my duck eggs are pipped and they are peeping away in there, but one egg has dark discoloration around the pip hole. Can someone please tell me WHY?? Only 4 out of my 13 eggs have made it this far and I don't want to lose any!!!!!! My husband won't let me touch them but I'm worried about this one.

Is it possible he hit a vein and it's dried blood?

Thanks guys. He's still alive in there but coming along slower than the others. I mean, there is a good size hole in his egg and I can see his beak now.
