Is it ok to eat a chicken that died of oldness or a disease?

Most people would probably avoid consuming such a bird. I would say it is not recommended.

If it died of old age, it would be fine to eat, as long as you were right on the spot to process and refrigerate the moment it died. If it died of old age, it is going to be tougher than shoe leather.

I don't eat diseased animals.
