Dish tub nesting boxes

Is there no back on the storage unit? I think i would run a 2x4 up each side on the front flush with the unit. Then a strip of plywood with a 2x2 about the level of the top of the plastic bin. Personally, i would get rid of the bins and if there is no back put plywood over it. If you can't envision what i am talking about, let me know and i could sketch it but i am upstairs now and others are in bed.
good for you very kool idea & the way your securing the tubs from moving around excellent..!

You could drill a hole towards the bottom sides of the rear of the sides, middle, and tubs, then run a wooden dowel through the entire thing, to anchor the upper tubs in. Then you just have to pull out the dowel, and it would release the tubs for cleaning.
I like this idea....might be hard to get all the holes to line up tho.

Like the ballast idea too, but not sure sand would be heavy enough, and it would make cleaning harder...which is the main purpose of using tubs.

Here is what i had in mind. The black outline represents your current structure. The blue would be 2x2 or 2x4 attached to the outside. The red are pieces of plywood topped with 2x2 for them to grip getting in.

Nice drawing!.....bad photo focus, had me rubbing my eyes there for a sec. ;)
Good design...screw the 2x2's to the side from inside of existing cabinet.
