Disinfect coop after Marek's?

The absolute best thing is to powerwash everything on high heat if possible. Remove all bedding and toss out the feeders and waterers or soak them in bleach, then spray them down with oxine. Then spray every single thing, area with bleach and let dry. Then spray the same way with virkon, let dry. Then do the same with oxine, let dry. To be cautious and hit spots you missed, repeat with virkon and then oxine again. It will take about a week, but it's the absolute safest way to go.

Those symptoms don't sound like Marek's to me either as any birds I have had come down with this terrible disease showed progressive paralysis rather than agitation.

I would also say that though that disinfecting the coop is of limited use if you have a tractor you moved around the yard as well as other birds. All your other birds would already be exposed and the virus would have been shed around your entire yard as you moved the tractor. They would have already built immunity or would come down with the disease.

Sorry for your loss. I know how hard it is being new to chickens and having this happen. When hubby and I first got chickens several years ago we bought from a source I later learned was "questionable". (Had I checked the local chicken group boards I would have seen that everyone who got birds from this source had them come down with Marek's.) We ended up having to cull them all one by one as they came down with symptoms. It was just heartbreaking.

If it is any consolation, we have never had another outbreak so don't lose hope.
I am dealing with Marek’s disease in my flock if 20 - now 15 as they one by one come down with the symptoms. The first one acted like it had had a stroke but then looked up the symptoms as it progressed and it matched Marek’s perfectly. My question is where do I go from here? I know there’s no cure and I’ll stick it out with this flock until I’m not getting enough eggs to sustain us and then we’ll have to start over. How do you clean and prepare the coop so this doesn’t happen again besides making sure I get vaccinated chicks?

I have just disinfected and insecticided my nesting boxes.
I used Virkon too for the disinfectant, bit pricey over here but well worth it. Smells a lot too so lots of ventilation is needed especially if you are treating raw wood.
