Our chicks are only a week and half old, but I'd like to get our coop ready for them to head out there in a few weeks. Our coop is a converted shed with the front half for storage and supplies and the back half is the actual coop - 8x10. My question is - obviously because it was an older shed on the property, it needs to be cleaned and disinfected before putting the girls in there. What are your recommendations on what to use?
Secondly, the floor of the shed is gravel, not pea gravel, but a little larger. Should I put something down on top of it before putting litter down such as a linoleum remnant or it is fine to put bedding on top of the gravel?
Thanks!
